Glendale Historical Society Holds September Public Meeting
Thank you for attending the GHS Public Meeting, Tuesday, September 15.
At the meeting, members approved GHS’s new bylaws and elected GHS’s inaugural leadership.
Fall activities planned include a holiday lights trolley tour in December, refurbishment of GHS’s history exhibit at City Hall, and development of Glendale-themed items to sell to benefit GHS. GHS also plans continued improvements to the small archive and the GHS website. To volunteer for any of these activities, please contact GHS here.

Glendale Historical Society Launches New Century Homes Program
The Glendale Historical Society (GHS) relaunched its Century Home Program with the awarding of its first redesigned commemorative plaque at its general meeting on September 15. Anne Louise Graman, owner of a Craftsman’s Bungalow on Brownell Avenue, received a plaque for her 1924 home which was also featured on the Glendale Garden & Home Tour in June. Of the approximately 2,300 homes in Glendale, around 10 percent were built over 100 years ago and are potentially eligible to receive this recognition. Thirty-five homes were recognized in the previous Century Home program, which ran from 2007 to 2013.
