Join us for the Glendale Garden & Home Tour on June 7 when nine Glendale property owners generously open their lovely homes and gardens to the community for this special event. The tour highlights the architectural diversity of Glendale and includes an English-style stone mansion, a Civil-War-era Charleston-style brick home, a Craftsman bungalow and more. In addition, a stunning garden that was previously featured on the Missouri Botanical Garden Tour will be open to tour visitors.
Purchase tour tickets at The Glendale Grind, starting on May 7 and ending at 4 p.m. on June 7. You may start the tour at any of the properties listed in the tour booklet; pick your own route. Parking will be available on the surrounding streets, but a number of the homes are also an easy walk from The Grind which is directly across from City Hall.
On tour day, The Glendale Grind offers tour goers a 20% discount on all food and beverage purchases; just show your tour booklet (which serves as admission to each of the houses). Have a sweet treat and a cup of your favorite drink in between stops on the tour!
The purchase of a tour ticket also includes a chance to win a raffle prize donated by local businesses, including garden shops and restaurants. The tour booklet will have more information about how to enter. Glendale Christmas ornaments will be on sale at one of the tour houses for $15 or $20 (cash, check, Venmo accepted).
This tour is sponsored by the Glendale Historical Society; all proceeds go towards supporting the group’s efforts to celebrate and preserve Glendale’s rich history. Specifically, the tour supports the continued development of the GHS webpage, as well as the purchase of archival storage materials as we continue to organize and preserve the GHS archives. Future projects include updating the historical exhibit at City Hall.
