October 23, 2025: Glendale Historical Society Launches Webpage

The Glendale Historical Society (GHS) has launched a new webpage drawing from photographs and materials in the GHS archives.  Go to www.glendalemohistoricalsociety.com to visit the site.

Members of the GHS steering committee have been uploading old maps, decades’ worth of GHS bulletins, photographs, newspaper stories and more recent announcements.  Please note that this is a work in progress, so many categories under Archives simply display the words “Coming Soon.”  The process of digitizing the archives will take months to complete, but visitors to the site will see what categories (Lost Glendale, Schools, Businesses, Century Homes, etc.) will eventually be uploaded.  Please check the site regularly to find new material.

For now, visitors to the site will find old maps of Glendale, some dating from the late 1800’s, as well as newspaper articles about Glendale’s history and photographs from years past.  The GHS Bulletins are a treasure trove of stories from earlier generations of Glendale residents, as well as more neighborhood maps and pictures from by-gone years.

The newly revitalized Historical Society will also be sending out updates and information via a list-serve to residents who would like to receive these announcements directly.  If you would like to receive information directly from the Glendale Historical Society on a periodic basis, please send your email address to GlendaleHSMO@gmail.com.  We will also continue to send out announcements via the City’s weekly e-newsletter.
