GHS Presents Quilt to City of Glendale
The Glendale Historical Society (GHS) presented a "history quilt" to the City of Glendale at the Board of Aldermen meeting on July 20. The quilt, commissioned by the GHS and created by Glendale quilter Lisa Grossenheider, features 20 photos of former residents, city officials, school classes, Glendale landmarks and buildings, as well as a map featuring the Glendale Station on the Missouri Pacific Railroad from which the city derives its names. The quilt was presented to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States and has been hung in the large Board meeting hall at Glendale's City Hall.
